Attention Candidates!

Earn the Endorsement of the Kansas Progressive Caucus

The Kansas Progressive Caucus of the Kansas Democratic Party is a grass roots organization where the membership decides who to officially support in any given election.  Our by-laws are available for viewing online, and specify the steps a candidate must take to receive our endorsement.  Here are the highlights:

1. The candidate must be a registered Democrat in the state of Kansas.
We reserve the right to endorse no candidate in any given race, though we will not actively oppose any Democrat in a race where there is more than one Democrat and an endorsement is being made.

2. The candidate must print, fill out, and email to co-chairs@kansasprogressives.org the following questionaire:

3. The candidate must submit a written statement to the caucus.
Ideally this document would outline his or her position on major issues related to the office for which the candidate is running, and give us a clear picture of his or her goals, values, and character. The caucus will make all reasonable efforts to circulate this document among its membership. It is also possible that there will be an opportunity for candidates seeking endorsement to speak before a meeting of the caucus.

4. Eligible caucus members will vote to decide which candidates to endorse in accordance with our bylaws.
The Kansas Progressives By-Laws are available for download here. Once a candidate has been endorsed by the Kansas Progressives, he or she is eligible to receive donations through our PAC – KProPAC – in compliance with all state rules and guidelines.
